ARTO SAARI - BERLIN 2013 - After I took the picture he said “Are you trying to steal my secrets?!…Just kidding…I’m here trying to find the right angle”. He was shooting Redbull Bomb The Line Contest and I don’t know if he found the right angle, but I think I found mine.
Check both mine and his interview fro Leica “Rolling Through The Shadows on Leica Blog!
DESILLUSION MAGAZINE SURVIVAL KIT N.2 - Desillusion Magazine just released my new survival kit. Here is more about it and how I managed to shoot it…
DIY QUARTER: made with Okoumé wood (Knodel Bowl Italy docet) for the garage sessions.
SURFBOARD: McTavish 7.2 ft
MY FATHER’S “CARRIOLO A PALLINI”: throughout the fifties almost every kid would build one. It was made of some planks and four car engine ball bearings as wheels. Made by my dad in 1958, strictly DIY.
DIY SIDEWALK SURFBOARD: homemade around 10 years ago.
ENIMOL SKATEBOARDS: new collection from my crew.
VISION SKATEBOARD: Ouija Board Edition. Nice piece from 1989.
BICYCLE: another DIY project from the garage.
DIY VINTAGE TV: the jumping animal in the picture is my cat Giulietta.
FRANCESCO SAVERIO: my little nephew (actually a cousin but in Sicily the little ones are often considered nephews), who learnt how to say “Claudio” before saying “mom” or “dad”. Hope I’ll be a good influence…
DESILLUSION MAGAZINE: Issue 44 “I’ll Make Death Love Me” with my article “The Recent History of Sicilian Skateboard Tours”.
BACKGROUND AND SHOOTING FEATURES: the picture was taken from the second floor of the building where I live. I needed 60 kg of cat litter to have an uniform background and the precious help of Gianfranco (Francesco Saverio’s dad) and my sister Eleonora.
Backstage pics coming soon!

BACK TO MY “ITACA" - They call them wisdom teeth because they appear pretty late at an age where you are presumably a wise man. Nevertheless they’ve been in my mouth for almost 10 years and after that a couple more years in my drawer. My dentist asked me if I wanted to keep them with me. How could I let him trow away part of myself?
I just did it by my self a few years ago.
