Yesterday I had a portfolio review with Martin Bogren about my project Head of the Lion at Micamera Milan.
Martin has been such a great inspiration for my work and he is such a nice person. This is a picture from a project from him that I really love, Tractor Boys.
I don't think I'm done yet with my interest towards my favourite colour. I previously made this post about Vantablack, the darkest black ever produced on planet Earth.
Today I just found out that in early 2016 British-Indian artist Anish Kapoor (who you might remember for the Cloud Gate in Chicago) received exclusive rights to use Vantablack for artistic use. Get over it, he is the only one. But if you are into rare stuff you can buy a little sample for a lot of money.
Here is one of the coolest FAQ about Vantablack:
"What does Vantablack feel like?
People often tell us they have an urge to touch a Vantablack surface when they see it for the first time. However, there are a few good reasons why this wouldn't be a good idea. First of all, a Vantablack consists mainly of free space, with the nanotubes offering little resistance to direct contact. The sensation would be akin to touching the underlying substrate."
Going back to Sir Anish Kapoor this is what he said about it: "Imagine a space that's so dark that as you walk in you lose all sense of where you are, what you are, and especially all sense of time".
...FOR NOT GIVING A FUCK. Thanks Anna Adamo for sending over these inspiring words from Larry Clark. Read it HERE.
"In all our lives there's a fall from innocence, a time after which we are never the same. It happened in the summer of 1959, a long time ago...
For some is the last real taste of innocence and the first real taste of life. But for every one it's the time that memories are made of."
Stand By Me - Rob Reiner
Young British photographer Richard Billingham documents his dramatic family life. This video almost made me cry and I think I have a new favorite book out there.
Thanks Flavio Franzoni for telling me about it. It was great talking with you.
One of my greatest inspirations from cinema world while working on my project Head of the Lion. Five years spent documenting the adolescence of a group of eight Sicilian kids.
Just watched a very interesting doc about German publisher and printer Gerhard Steidl. Link HERE
After my trip to Mexico I started getting interested in Mexican culture. This is one of the most beautiful things I've seen, Que viva Mexico! by Sergej Eisenstein. Take also a look at the pictures I took HERE.
Thanks Anna Adamo for sharing this images with me!
A very interesting talk with photojournalist Lynsey Addario.
Sometimes it takes years and years to really achieve that feeling.
Thanks to my dear friend Milena for sharing this video with me.

Interesting interview to Alec Soth.
A great project. Because yeah, NYC is really about passion.
Stefan Sagmeister is a genius. Nothing else to add.
